1999 Established Techno Design Graduate School
Kookmin University opened the Techno Design Graduate School in 1999 by merging 8 majors in addition to the Architecture and Design major in order to build a professional curriculum through progressive and flexible education that provides insight into the present and future trends and to produce design leaders.
2004 Building an intelligent home industrialization support center
The Department of Architectural Design was selected as the lead organization of the Intelligent Home Industrialization Support Center construction project, an industrial technology foundation project of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and received a total project cost of 6.7 billion won (5 billion won from the national government), and the Intelligent Home Industrialization Support Center (Smart) designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Home Industrialization Support Center) was established.
2006 BK21 Phase 2 project selection

The Department of Architecture and Design moved the Intelligent Home Industrialization Support Center to Jeongneung-dong in 2009 through support and sponsorship of 40 industries including Samsung E&C, Samsung SDS, Lotte E&C, Ssangyong E&C, Hanssem, and LG Electronics.
